The SARA Bulanan 2026 disbursement will start on 9 January 2026 for 3.7 million low-income Household and 1.3 million Senior Citizens Without Spouse recipients. This will be followed by 3.1 million Single Individuals on 16 January 2026.

The SARA Untuk Semua RM100 one-off will be disbursed on 9 February 2026 to all Malaysian citizens aged 18 and above.

Eligibility checks can be made one day before the start date for each category.

Introduction

SARA is an extension programme from Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR), which is a targeted assistance programme for the people who are most affected by the high cost of living. This contribution programme aims to improve the economic status of the vulnerable groups under the 2026 Budget. SARA credit balance can be carried over to the following months.

All Malaysians aged 18 and above will receive one-off RM100 from 9 February 2026.

Eligibility

STR 2026 recipients who have been verified from the eKasih database as Extremely Poor and Poor are eligible for SARA 2026 amounting to RM100 / RM200 per month for a period of 12 months (January 2026 - December 2026).

All STR 2026 recipients, other than those verified as eKasih Extremely Poor and Poor, are eligible to receive an additional SARA 2026 amounting to RM50 / RM100 per month for a period of 12 months (January 2026 - December 2026).

SARA 2026 recipients will receive cashless aid for basic necessities automatically through an account opened using the recipient's MyKad. Basic necessities from approved product categories can be purchased at selected stores and supermarkets nationwide using the MyKad.

Malaysian citizens who are 18 years old and above are automatically eligible. This also includes existing SARA recipients.
